I stumbled into Slobby’s World and I didn’t want to leave.

A few weeks back, on a rare occasion when it was pouring in Southern California, I stayed in and decided to binge on Netflix. The photo you see to the right is what I came across while scrolling service, and you can see why I had to see what it was about.

And I’m happy I did. I must’ve plowed through all 12 of the episodes in a few days. It’s basically like Pawn Stars, but for 90s kids and you follow around Slobby Robby.

Yes, Slobby Robby. He’s named after the Garbage Pale kid. I kinda (sorta) see the resemblance, but not really.

He’s the co-owner and operator of the Tuscon based store Generation Cool, which is basically full of 80s and 90s pop-culture items.

Jordan’s, bootleg Gucci, video games. Basically everything.

Aside from the actual products, the most interesting thing about the show was Slobby’s knowledge of vintage items. Both real and fake. His wealth of knowledge on the dates, value and the actual products was pretty impressive. Although his store has only been open since 2013, he’s been doing this since the late 90s, so he has quite a bit of experience.

If you grew up in the 80s and 90s, and want a bit of nostalgia, definitely check it out. I know that after watching it, it made me want to sort through all my junk to see if I could find any hidden gems.
